Israel Tightens Blockade Over Gaza Strip

Israel defense minister Avigdor Lieberman has ordered a block on gas and fuel supplies going into the Gaza Strip through the Karem Abu Salem commercial crossing. The fuel ban will start Thursday until further notice and is based on claims that Palestinians have set fire to Israeli productive land.This measure is taken to put “pressure on the leadership here to stop the incendiary kites and balloons,” reported Al Jazeera’s Stefanie Dekker from Gaza. In July Israel shut down the Kerem Shalom crossing to pressure on the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, to stop actions against Israel.
