Israeli Poll Shows Little Faith in Trump Plan to Achieve Peace

A recent survey shows that Israelis do not believe that a proposal by US President Donald Trump will be successful in achieving a goal of peace between Israelis and Palestinians. The survey conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute and Tel Aviv University shows that nearly 75 percent of Jewish and Arab Israelis believe a plan by the American administration has either very low or moderately low chances to succeed.
 
An overwhelming 77 percent of respondents said they believe Israel’s interests are important to the American president, with over 60 percent saying they believe the interests of the Palestinians are not. The poll also showed that while over half of respondents supported negotiations with the Palestinians, less than 20 percent believed the talks would lead to peace.
