West Bank mosque burnt, vandalized by hardline settlers

Residents of the West Bank town of Aqraba, near Nablus, woke Friday to assess the damage to the local mosque which was the target of a nighttime arson and vandalism attack. Israeli security forces cordoned off the rural Skekh Sade Mosque while the Palestinian imam gauged the damage allegedly inflicted on the place of worship by hardline Israeli settlers.The wooden door at the entrance to the mosque was charred from an apparent arson attack and the word “price tag” was daubed in Hebrew in red spray paint on the exterior wall. Some settlers in the West Bank have adopted the so-called price tag movement as a way to exact retribution for perceived injustices against what they believe is their right to live on occupied Palestinian land.
