An obscure Palestinian group has claimed responsibility for a truck ramming in Jerusalem that killed four Israeli soldiers and injured 17 others as families of the dead began holding funerals. The previously unknown group calling itself The Martyr of Baha Alyan Collective said it had no outside links, acted on “political motives” and it was not the first attack carried out by a member.
It warned it will be followed by “a torrent of unyielding quality attacks”. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier said “all signs point to the attacker being a supporter of the Islamic State (IS)”, but police said they have no evidence yet to release about possible IS links.
